Rob Messenger was born in Bundaberg, Queensland, on 26 October 1962.
In 1978 Rob joined the RAAF (Royal Australian Air-Force) as an Electrical Apprentice/Electrical Fitter, until 1987.
Prior to his election to State Parliament as the Member for Burnett in February 2004, Rob's occupations included a Cameraman, writer, producer, director (for Win TV and Channel 7) and, as you may recognise him from, a producer/broadcaster for the ABC Regional Radio station.
Previously Rob held the positions of Shadow Minister for Tourism and Small Business, Shadow Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Shadow Minister for Police and Corrective Services, Shadow Environment and Heritage Minister, and Shadow Education and Arts Minister.
Rob's numerous interests include reading, films, screen writing, fishing, documentary making, theatre/acting, running, mountain bike riding, the Qld Cancer Fund and family.
